Where we are

Indian matrimony across Australia and New Zealand

Rishta is one site for two countries, and one search can cover a city, a country, or both. These pages exist because an Indian family in Hamilton, a Tamil family in Christchurch and a Fiji Indian family in Māngere are not looking for the same thing, and a page generated from a template with the city name swapped in does not help any of them.

Each page below is written for that community in that place, with the local facts, the places families actually gather, and the questions that community asks first. What is the same on every one of them is the site underneath: every profile passes an ID check with a document and a live selfie before anyone can see it, a person on our team reads each new profile the day it goes live, photos stay private until she approves someone, contact details are never shown, and it is free for everyone who joins before 31 December 2026.

New Zealand

292,092 Indian New Zealanders at the 2023 Census, more than half of them in Auckland. Start with the country page, or go straight to your community.

Australia

673,352 people born in India at the 2021 Census and close to a million with Indian ancestry, most of them in Sydney and Melbourne. The same site as New Zealand's; a search can take in both countries at once.

  • Indian matrimony in Melbourne

Melbourne, where more Sikh and Punjabi families live than in any other city in either country: the north, the west, the south-east, suburb by suburb.

  • Indian matrimony in Sydney

Sydney, with more Indian Australians than any other city: Harris Park to Glenwood, the temples, gurdwaras and mosques, and a search within the city.

  • Indian matrimony in Brisbane

Brisbane and the Gold Coast: the southside, the oldest gurdwara in the city, and a community that has grown fast since 2016.

  • Indian matrimony in Perth

Perth, the far side of the country: Canning Vale and the south-east, and why most Perth families search Australia-wide.

Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil families kept distinct: 95,404 Tamil speakers, the Sydney and Melbourne suburbs, the temples.

  • Telugu matrimony in Australia

A young, fast-growing community of IT and health professionals, and a search that understands Telugu families rather than filing them under Indian.

  • Malayali matrimony in Australia

Kerala families, Hindu, Christian and Muslim: the nurses and engineers of the last twenty years, their churches and temples, and a search in Malayalam terms.

  • Muslim matrimony in Australia

Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Fiji Indian Muslim families, with the family in the conversation from the start and no photos in public.

  • Indian Christian matrimony in Australia

Kerala, Goan, Tamil, Anglo-Indian and Punjabi Christian families, the parishes, and church weddings here.

  • Fiji Indian matrimony in Australia

Western Sydney is the heart of Fiji Indian Australia; treated as its own community, with Fiji Hindi, Sanatan and Arya Samaj.

  • NRI matrimony in Australia

For the family settled here and the family in India looking this way: residency on every profile, overseas opt-in both ways, and the visa that comes after the rishta.

Not in a city listed here?

Rishta is open across both countries, not only in the cities with a page. Someone in Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide joins the same way, sets their own city and distance, and is found by anyone searching their country. The city pages exist to describe a place honestly, not to decide who may join.

Before you join, the guides cover what matrimonial sites actually offer from New Zealand, the arranged-marriage visa, registering a marriage here, and the Anand Karaj and the roka when one family is overseas. And the free biodata maker makes a PDF to send to family, whether or not you ever join.

Looking for a marriage bureau rather than a website? Our matchmakers work across both countries, never from your own city. Starting again after a divorce or a loss? The page on matrimony for a second marriage is for you.
