Your account
Delete your account.
You can delete your Rishta account yourself, at any time, in about a minute. Everything goes: your profile, photos and chats. It cannot be undone, and no reason is needed.
In the app, or on the website
- 1
Open Rishta and sign in
On your phone or computer, at rishta.com.au or rishta.co.nz, or in the app.
- 2
Go to Me
The last tab at the bottom on a phone, or Me in the menu on a computer. Scroll to the end, to Leaving.
- 3
Tap Delete my profile, then Yes, delete everything
That is all. There is no form and no reason to give, and nobody rings you to ask you to stay.
What is deleted
Your profile and everything on it, your photos, your interests and the ones sent to you, your conversations, your notifications, the records of your ID check, and your sign-in sessions on every device. It is removed from the live site at once, the people you were talking to no longer see you, and your email address is free to join again one day. If you paid for a membership by card, our payment provider keeps its own record of that payment; we do not keep a copy of your profile.
If you cannot sign in
Email [email protected]from the email address you joined with, with the subject “Delete my account”. A person checks that it is you, deletes the account by hand, usually within a few days, and emails you when it is done. A profile that a parent opened and manages is deleted the same way, from the parent’s account.
Only want a break?
Under Me you can hide your profile instead: nobody can find you and you cannot browse, but the chats you accepted carry on and everything is there when you come back. Hiding is not deletion; deleting is the step above.
