A person read every profile here before it went live. Photos stay private until one of you accepts the other’s interest, and then you see each other’s. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
Melbourne’s Hindi-speaking families stretch from the western growth suburbs around Tarneit and Point Cook to the south-east, where Foster Street in Dandenong, known as Little India, anchors the shopping and the festival calendar.
The South Asian community in Melbourne is strongest in Craigieburn, Tarneit, Truganina, Point Cook, Cranbourne, Officer, Pakenham and Wollert. On Rishta you can search Melbourne alone, or widen it to the whole of Australia, or to Australia and New Zealand together.
Hindi is often the language two Indian families have in common even when it is nobody’s first language, and plenty of families here, from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh or Fiji, use it at home. Rishta keeps mother tongue, religion and community as separate fields, so a Hindi-speaking Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Jain family can say exactly what they mean, with “no bar” always an option. Fiji Hindi is listed in its own right.

A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every profile ID-checked before it goes live, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your own town. I built it because I am looking too.
